Raised on the farm.
Welcomed into your home.
At Gray's Dobermans we raise exceptional dogs in a loving, caring environment on our hobby farm in the Catskill foothills. Our focus, every litter, is longevity and temperament.
A family hobby farm, eighteen years in.
Gray's Dobermans is a well-known and highly reputable dog breeder in Ellenville, NY, in Ulster County. We have been involved with breeding Dobermans for almost eighteen years.
Our main priority is ensuring the health and well-being of all our animals from birth until they leave with their forever family — and beyond. We health test all of our dogs, and we health-guarantee every puppy we place.
We are very good at matching dogs to prospective owners, so the more information you can share about your home, the better. Reach out with your preferences for age, size, gender, color, coat, and budget, and we'll take it from there.
We breed from sound, long-lived lines. Health is the first filter.
Stable, family-appropriate temperaments. Early socialization on the farm.
Careful matching with each home. Support for the life of the dog.
Responsible breeding, plainly said.
We don't run a kennel operation. We keep a handful of carefully chosen dogs on the farm, we health-test before they're bred, and we raise each litter by hand in a home environment until they're ready to go.
Health Tested
Parents are evaluated before pairing. Pups go home vet-checked and up to date on vaccines, with a written health guarantee.
Socialized Early
Puppies are raised underfoot on the farm — exposed to family life, kids, other dogs, livestock, and day-to-day sounds.
Matched Carefully
We place dogs based on the home, not a waitlist number. Active home, couch home, first-time owner — tell us, and we'll be honest.
Supported for Life
Questions at week two or year twelve, we're available. If life changes, we take our dogs back — no questions asked.
Puppies, available and reserved.
Born December 14. A few still available, a few reserved. Ears cropped or natural — we'll discuss what suits your home.
Litters born & expected.
Deposits hold a spot in line with gender and color preference noted. All pairings are health-tested parents.

Tell us about your home.
Thank you for stopping by and looking at our dogs and puppies. Keep in mind that there are probably more dogs available than are listed here — we're kept busy feeding, grooming, and cleaning up after the dogs.
Our puppies are vet-checked, up to date on vaccines, and the parents are health-tested. When you reach out, share whatever helps us match you to the right pup:
- Preferred age, gender, color, coat
- Cropped or natural ears
- Home layout — kids, other pets, yard, activity level
- Experience with the breed
- Budget and timing
Before you reach out.
Are the parents health-tested?
Yes. We health-test all of our dogs before breeding. Puppies go home vet-checked, up to date on vaccines, and with a written health guarantee.
Cropped ears or natural?
Both. Some of our pups are cropped before leaving; others stay natural. We're happy to talk through what fits your home and schedule.
How do deposits and the waiting list work?
A deposit reserves your spot in line for an upcoming litter, with your gender and color preferences noted. If the litter doesn't include a match, your deposit moves to the next.
Do you ship puppies?
We prefer in-person pickup at the farm in Ellenville, NY so you can meet the parents. Flight-nanny and ground transport can be arranged at the buyer's cost.
What does a puppy cost?
Pricing varies by litter, color, and whether ears are cropped. Pet-home Dobermans typically range $2,800–$4,500. Breeding rights, when offered, are priced separately.
Do you take dogs back if things change?
Always. If life changes and you can't keep your dog, we want them back with us — no questions asked. We also rehome retired adults from time to time.
Do you breed other breeds?
Alongside Dobermans we occasionally raise select companion breeds — poodles, goldendoodles, and shepherd mixes. Availability varies; please ask.
Can we come visit the farm?
Visits are by appointment. Reach out by phone or email and we'll find a time that works around feeding and chores.
Get in touch.
We look forward to meeting you and finding the right pup for your family.
